SOLD

The Born Free is considered one of the safest and high-quality coaches built.  Three steel roll bars and amazingly crafted full fiberglass bodies with solid oak interiors.  This is a low mileage (~58,525) and gently driven coach; we are the third owner (all owners had been retired or near retirement during ownership).  Our Born Free is at our home in Southwest Central Pennsylvania on our purpose-built concrete pad.  She is the Rear Side Bed Model, with cab overhead bed plus jackknife sofa bed, which can collectively sleep 3-6.  All systems are working properly, no leaks, and over the past 18 months, we performed many significant upgrades (see below) which makes this Born Free operate exceptionally well down the road, even when flat towing.  Pennsylvania (PA) Inspection through June 2025!  And, we have clear title in hand.   Our 2015 flat-tow ready Jeep Wrangler Sport is also for sale (click here) and makes a great package with our Born Free.

Are there any issues?

All RVs, even the best Born Free, at 10+ years old, is going to have a few issues; we always professionally take care of everything we know about or do major items (updates, maint. and upgrades) for improved safety, handling and reliability.  Here are a few items we want to provide for transparency (with our comments (status) about each:

  • Original Rear Backup camera, integrated with original Sony in-dash system, apparently does not work well at night (per previous owner)

    • Status: works fine in daylight; we only traveled and parked during daylight; we installed a new solar wireless backup camera which can be used while driving as well; included in sale

  • Original Sony In-Dash GPS Maps are no longer updated (but GPS still works even outdated)

    • Status: we don't rely on the original Sony GPS maps; we use a combination of our own Garmin GPS and our phones (Google/RV Life maps) for directions; our Garmin is not included in sale

  • Only four of the six TireMinder TPMS sensors installed (2 front; 2 rear outside); we bought six

    • Status: Difficult choice we made as multiple tire pro(s) said you have to do this just right (for the inside rears) or it could cause more problems; we will include the other two sensors for new owner.

  • Autoshade power blind.  One (sun shade, behind sofa) has stopped in down position; night shade works fine.

    • Status: We do have a replaceable power blind for the new owner.

  • LED light strip on awning does not work.

  • Original water pump still installed and operating fine (maybe a little less power now)

    • Status: As a precaution, we did buy a new replacement water pump and will provide with sale

  • Included (1 yr old) winter cover has a few tears in it (near bottom; not in a significant area).

    • Status: this is an accessory to the RV and not impacting it's funtion.  We live in a windy area during the winter.  The National RV cover provided has a patch kit (included).

Reason for Selling

We are retired.  After allot of research, we only considered two RV manufacturers: 1) Born Free motorcoach and 2) Oliver Travel Trailer.  Both based on their reputations, build quality, family-type ownership and owner support communities.  A Born Free became available in Eastern Pennsylvania which was about a 3-4 hour drive for us.  We saw it and bought it same day.  We have thoroughly enjoyed the past 2 years "making Helen ours" and adverturing through parts of the South and North east.  We think so highly of our Born Free, we figured we would pass it down to our grown children some day!  However, my health is not cooperating.  After much consideration, we decided we should pass our "ready for any and all travels" Helen to a new family so she could be enjoyed for years to come.

This is a great coach.  She is ready for your adventures.  We will miss her.
